Mangonels stone throwing attack on the towers and walls every day. The walls of the castles would hopefully be breached, and towers damaged. The enemy erected wooden towers called bell tower, which is bigger than the castle to hide, so that men bow to shoot arrows into the castle.
For mining, anti-mining tunnels could be dug by the soldiers castle, which insured a ferocious hand-to-hand combat of the Subway. Within the castle, the guards would make a pot of water near the castle towers and walls. Then the Bailey is attacked, and more men killed. The annexe building with hay and grain for the castle burned. Meanwhile it is managed, of miners in the collapse of a wall of the castle. The defenders of the castle will be forced to surrender as the castle is for the enemy.
The third method, called the siege, the enemy to wait and starve the castle garrison into surrender. Sometimes the enemy would be dead animals in the park, in the hope of spreading diseases. And sometimes the lord of the castle would be dead animals outside his castle, the enemy had enough supplies for a siege months.

The third function of a shield was the attack. Although this is quite incredible how a sign was offensive and defensive shields. Better shields would be very often a sharp edge, so that the user may be his enemy and killing him with one blow. A sign, because it is made of metal and very heavy, could easily kill an enemy in one strike. In the 15th Century, most knights were covered with steel plates. At the beginning of the century, these plates were often worn over chain mail, to be worn over a layer of padding. The defense was directly connected to the padding underneath. The knights actually hold a high level of skills in manueverability in his armor. However, the armor was extremely heavy and warriors could quickly fatigue. Also, the helmet, which is usually a single valve, in order to deal with the limited vision.
Unlike the knights of the last century, during this time, the sign was unusual. Progress in the knights' defense forced the heavy weapons, often in the two hands, so that the shield was, and probably for use in tournaments.
The helmets not having nasals were chiefly conical, round and flat-topped. The cylindrical or flat-topped Medieval Helmets appears to have came into fashion towards the close of the 12th Century. The Medieval Helmets developed into the cylindrical casque, which is common in the 13h Century. From now on, the Medieval Helmets can be classified in two categories: helms and helmets. The term helm will be used to designate the new type of headpiece, while the helmet will designate a piece of diminished completeness, the non-closed casque.
The flat-topped helm with movable ventail appears about the middle of the century. The successive changes of fashion supply a further division of the helms: the flat topped, the round topped, and the sugar-leaf form. Around 1270, the round-topped helm came into vogue. The helm was worn over the coif of chain-mail.
The helmets may be classed as the hemispherical, the cylindrical, the conical, and the nasal. Helms provided freedom of breathing by means of perforations in the lower part. Helms were made mainly of iron or steel, and were occasionally guilt. For war, the great helm was placed over the bascinet.
During this period, the Medieval Helmets became more sophisticated , and the movable visor was introduced. The helmets of the 14th Century are composed chiefly of a mixture of iron-plate and chain-mail. Among them, the visored bascinet with camail was much in vogue. The visor, which turned on side pivots, could be removed, so it allows the helm to be added to the knight defenses by placing it over the bascinet. The Medieval Helmets classification under the two categories of helms and helmets still applies in the 15th century. The helms of this century exhibit crests of every variety of fanciful design.

In Medieval Europe, as in the Roman period, most people wore loose linen or wool tunics like big baggy t-shirts. Men mostly wore tunics down to their knees, though old men and monks wore their tunics down to the ground, and so did kings and noblemen for parties and ceremonies. Men sometimes also wore wool pants under their tunics. Wearing pants was originally a Germanic idea, and the Romans disapproved of it. But it gradually caught on anyway, especially among men who rode horses and in colder areas. Other men, especially noblemen, wore tights under their tunics. Outside, if it was cold, men wore wool cloaks.
On their feet, men wore leather shoes if they could afford them. In the earlier paintings men wear shoes with square toes, but later the shoes have pointy toes and even curve up at the toes in a kind of hook, just to be extra fancy.
Women also wore different kinds of clothes depending on who they were. All women wore at least one tunic down to their ankles. Many women, if they could afford it, wore a linen under-tunic and a woolen over-tunic, and often a wool cloak over that if they were going outside. On their legs women sometimes wore woven tights or socks, but women never wore pants. Nuns wore tunics like other women, but generally in black or white rather than colors. Noblewomen often wore fancy tall hats, sometimes with streamers coming off them. They sometimes plucked the hair from their foreheads to give themselves very high foreheads which people thought were beautiful. Most of what we know about medieval clothing comes from medieval pictures and sculptures, which have lasted better.
A chainmail is basically a medieval dress made of metal interlocking rings. The use of the chainmail in the medieval times was to spread the force of a sword or an axe over the surface, making the blow less powerful. For that reason, a chainmail was usually worn under the armor. If you want to make your own chainmail, read the instructions below.
The first step consists of choosing a weaving pattern. Here the European four in one model is described, for other patterns, you may need to do a little extra research.
If you want, you can buy ready made rings, or, you can make your own rings from wire. If you want a chainmail with bigger rings, you will also need less of them to make an entire chainmail; for a finer work, small rings are recommended. Also, if you want the chainmail to be durable, check the thickness of the rings, as thicker rings are more prone to last longer.
Making a chainmail is not very complicated. Here is how you must start, if you make your own rings from wire. Use a metal rod to wind the wire around it. If you do not have a metal rod, using a screwdriver shaft or other long and round metal object, will do. Keep one end of the wire with pliers, while you wind it around the metal rod. The result must be an even ring, that does not coil or spool. After making the first ring, cut the ring from the thread of wire. It is recommended to wear protective eye gear, so pieces of metal do not enter your eyes. Here is a tip: cut a little on a diagonal each ring as this will help when closing the ring. Use a hacksaw for this part of the process.
Arrange all the rings so they form a pattern. Two more rings must be linked and to another ring. A loop is now needed, to finalize the pattern.
In the starting of medieval era there was defense armor against enemies, animals. There were only weapons like stone weapons etc. Humans have fought over assets or soil ever since early humans began to grow crops or keep domestic animals. The earliest weapons were probably rocks, sticks, and animal bones and were used in one of two ways. Some were carried to strike a blow or to cut. Other weapons were made to be thrown or shot at the enemy from a distance. After some time, humans developed particularly formed arms from flint and stone, and by about 5000 b.c., copper was being used.
After this came bronze, then iron, and lastly steel, which made the strongest armor and sharpest blades. Many other resources have also been used, such as whalebone, leather and horn. Rapidly, those who had to fight began to protect themselves by having shields. Sometimes they also wore body armor. Armor was designed to give the best promising protection against increasingly lethal weapons. The armor could not be too heavy or so difficult to wear that a soldier could not move properly. This constant struggle between attack and defense has continued right up to the present day with each producer trying to produce better equipment than his or her rivals.
The Mail Armor was first used in England during the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The mail armor was the forerunner of what the great knights of England later wore during battles and jousts. By the 12th century a knight attacked with the lance tucked under his arm, using the momentum of the galloping horse to drive the pointed steel head into the target. Mail was made from many small iron rings joined together, each closed with a tiny pin called a rivet. Sometimes every other row was made of welded rings.
In the medieval period, the place where archery was practiced was called as the "Butts". Thus, Butts was the name of the archery field. These Butts were situated on the borders of towns of villages on common land. A place was chosen where archery practice could be done without any interruption.
Butts
The Butts were made of a level flat area of land that had a length of about 200 meters. Initially, these were made up of several round flat topped and turf covered target mounds. The dimensions of the mounds were as follows – the diameter was 2 meters to 8 meters and height was 1 meter to 3 meters. Around the mound, there could be a small ditch from where the soil to build the mound was taken.
Laws
In medieval archery, it was made compulsory for all males starting from the age of seven, to undergo archery training. During the 14th and 15th centuries, several laws were passed which prohibited many field sports and other games. The objective was to enhance regular archery practice. Edward IV has issued a law regarding archery.
Act
In 1542, an Act was passed regarding archery distance. As per this Act, the minimum target distance was 220 yards for anybody who was aged minimum 24 years. The longbow had a maximum range of almost 400 yards. A trained archer was supposed to be capable of two issues. All those aged 16 to 60 were morally bound to protect the country in the time of crises. The English army of Edward III in the battle of Crecy in 1346 had a total strength of 19000 men out of which there were 7000 to 10000 archers.
